In the ancient world, when a king conquered a new territory, he would often erect a statue of himself in the city square. That statue, or image, was a constant reminder to the people. It declared, "Even though the king isn't physically here, this land belongs to him, and his authority reigns." What if I told you that God did the same thing when He created the world?
