We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the
original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has
supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21)
We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom,
power and love. We believe that He concerns himself mercifully in the affairs of
humankind, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all
who come to him through Jesus Christ. (Isaiah 44:6-8; John 4:24; James 1:17-18)
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, who was conceived by the Holy
Spirit and came to earth in human form. We believe in his virgin birth, sinless life,
miracles and teachings. We believe in his substitutionary atoning death, bodily
resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for his people, and
personal, visible return to earth. (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; 53:4-5; John 1:14; 5:22-23; Colossians 1:15-20)
We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and the Son to convict the
world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all
who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that all Christians are baptized by the Holy
Spirit when they are born again and He is our indwelling helper, teacher, and guide.
(John 3:5-6; 14:26; 16:13-14; Romans 8:26; I Corinthians 12:4-7; II Thessalonians 2:13)
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons as
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; that these are equal in every divine perfection;
and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation,
providence, and redemption. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14;
Jude 20-21)
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice, and are therefore under
condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ
as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. We believe a person is saved by grace
through personal faith in Jesus Christ. (John 1:12; 3:16; 20:31; II Corinthians 5:20-21;
Ephesians 1:3-7; Titus 3:5-6; I Peter 3:18; I John 5:11-13)
We believe in the universal church – a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head
and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church – consisting
of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and
associated for worship, service, and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the gospel of Jesus Christ to a
lost world. (Acts 2:42; Ephesians 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18; I Peter 2:9-10)
We believe that Christ instituted two specific ordinances that are outward symbols of an
inward spiritual truth or experience, which all believers are to carry out in obedience to
Him. These two ordinances are believer’s baptism and Communion (or the Lord’s
Supper). Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the triune God.
Water baptism does not save or cleanse from sin, but it is a response to Christ’s
command. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death and is open to all believers who have made a profession of faith. (Acts 2:38-47; 8:12-13; I Corinthians 11:23-30)
We believe God ordained the family as the foundational institution for the physical,
spiritual, and emotional growth of individuals, the church and the society. We believe
that marriage is a sacred covenant between a man and a woman. We believe God
commands a husband to be the servant leader of the family, loving his wife as Christ
loves the church; that a wife is to be her husband’s helper providing him love, respect,
and support; that both husbands and wives submit to one another under the headship
of Christ, treating each other as equals before God and sacrificing self for the well-being
and spiritual nurturing of the family; that children are commanded to obey and honor
their parents. (Romans 1:21-28; Ephesians 5:21 – 6:4; I Peter 3:1-7)
We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth and
the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final
judgment, the eternal happiness of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the
wicked in hell. (Matthew 24:31-46; I Corinthians 15; II Corinthians 5:10; I Thessalonians 4:13-
18; Revelation 20:4-6, 11-15)
