Witness Where God Sends You

Have you ever prayed to be somewhere else?

Maybe not out loud. But you have thought it. If I were out of this job. If my family were different. If the people around me were not the way they are — then I could really live for God.

And underneath that sits the suspicion that where God has put you is an accident. Or worse, a punishment. Somewhere to survive until the real life starts.

There is a man in Second Kings five with every reason to think exactly that, and every right to ask for something better.
