When the Cut Runs Deep

Have you ever watched a toddler scream in absolute agony because their parent took away a sharp object or a toy they were using to hit their sibling? To the child, it feels like the end of the world. It looks like an act of pure cruelty. But to the parent, it is an act of fierce, protective, and necessary love. Sometimes, love has to take away what we cherish to protect who we are.
